The 2018 signing class for the Minnesota men’s basketball team is set with the addition of graduate transfer Brock Stull, head coach Richard Pitino announced Sunday. Stull, who played three seasons at Milwaukee, will join the Gophers with one year of eligibility remaining after earning his undergraduate degree.

“We are extremely excited about the addition of Brock,” said Pitino. “We set out to add more versatility on the perimeter and he fills that void. He’s a competitor and was extremely productive at Milwaukee. He’s a terrific addition to our basketball team.”

A native of Rockford, Ill., Stull appeared in 96 games with the Panthers, averaging 10.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Starting every game the last two seasons, Stull was the team’s second-leading scorer last year averaging 13.4 points per outing. One year earlier, he was the Panthers’ leading scorer (13.5 ppg) and rebounder (6.6 rpg), earning the team’s MVP award. Stull made his debut on the court in 2015 and was a key reserve, after redshirting his freshman year in Milwaukee.

He arrived at Milwaukee after an outstanding prep career at Boylan Catholic High School, where he scored nearly 1,200 points and ranks among the top-10 all-time scorers and 3-point shooters. He was an all-state special mention as a senior, along with an all-conference football player and member of the track and field team.

Stull will become the fifth player to make their Gopher debut on the court next season, joining freshmen Gabe Kalscheur (Edina, Minn./DeLaSalle), Jarvis Omersa (Orono, Minn./Orono) and Daniel Oturu (Woodbury, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall), along with redshirt senior Matz Stockman, who sat out last year after transferring from Louisville. Two new Gophers, transfers Payton Willis (Fayetteville, Ark./Fayetteville/Vanderbilt) and Marcus Carr (Toronto, Ontario/Montverde Academy/Pittsburgh) also joined the program this spring.
