There are two open tournaments this weekend that our redshirts and non-starters will be attending. Seven guys are going to the Edinboro Open and 3 guys are going to the Don Parker Open. The Edinboro Open will be live streamed on Flowrestling.com, and the Don Parker Open will probably be live action only on Trackwrestling.com.

Flowrestling describes the Edinboro Open as one of the better tournaments of the D1 year, so this should be a good test for our guys!! I looked for the teams participating and can't find them listed yet. Probably by Saturday when it's on, FloArena will have all of that. I definitely will be watching that one, and tweeting on @Unlimited424 if you want to follow the results!!

Here's an article on this weekend's open tournament action from Gophersports.com:

Seven Gophers are headed to Edinboro, Pennsylvania, for the Edinboro Open while three others will travel across the border to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, for the Don Parker Open.

Heading to Northwest Pennsylvania will be 125-pound Skyler Petry, 125-pound Patrick McKee (unattached), 149-pound Brayton Lee (unattached), 165-pound Jake Allar, 174-pound Bailee O'Reilly, 184-pound Brandon Krone, and 197-pound Rylee Streifel.

O'Reilly is seeking his third straight weekend with a title after winning the Worthington Open and North Country Open the past two weekends. McKee and Streifel look for their second straight Open Title after winning at the North Country Open as well.

Krone defeated Northwestern's Brendan Devine by 18-0 technical fall the last time he wrestled and has lost only to top-15 opponents since December.

In Wisconsin, 125-pound Jake Gliva, 149-pound Brenn Olson, and 184-pound Caden Steffen will all wrestle unattached. Both Gliva and Steffen will look to improve on third place finishes last weekend at the North Country Open.

Steffen took home the title at his weight class at the Worthington Open.
