Former and current female B10 channel hosts: Jenny, Charissa, or Julia??

Sorry guys. You will have to help me with the pictures... Jenny Dell is the co-host of the big 10 show, CAMPUS EATS.. She is married to MLB player Will Middlebrooks. Charissa Thomspson did some hosting of specials on former Big Ten athletes. Julia Alexandria, who now works for the San Diego Padres announcing team but did a show where she co-hosted "TAILGATE". Who do you like the most and who do you think is the prettiest??

Charissa is very beautiful but kinda acts like a diva.. Kinda takes away from her personality. Julia was cute.. Just liked her free spirit and her personality was attractive.....Jenny is pretty.. Feminine but not too "girly-girl"..Not hilarious but pleasant with a good personality. Not afraid to dive right in and get involved with her circumstance. Will Widdlebrooks is a lucky man and that is my pick for the female Big Ten channel host I like the best.. I have to admit I am a sucker for brunettes with pretty eyes and a great smile.

SAN DIEGO – Jerry Kill said he was overcome with pride watching on television, as Minnesota defeated Washington State 17-12 in Tuesday night’s Holiday Bowl.

The former Gophers coach has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Rutgers after spending this season as an associate athletics director at Kansas State. But Kill said his heart will always be with the Gophers, and their current coaching staff, led by his longtime assistant Tracy Claeys.

“That’s probably one of the greatest coaching jobs of all-time,” Kill said via telephone. “With all that stuff going on, and all the things those kids have gone through -- from their old coach to the new coach to all the stuff they had to handle -- that’s flat unbelievable the job those guys did. [Claeys] deserves a darn contract [extension]."

The Gophers were 10-point underdogs heading into the Holiday Bowl but stunned Washington State with a stifling defensive performance.

“I’m proud as heck of those kids, the Gophers and those coaches," Kill said. "It was a heck of a win, a heck of a win.”

My Last Mitch Leidner Thread...

It had to be f'ing awesome to win that game, the last game of his college career, with his brother as the starting center.

That is a memory that is so damn cool. Winning a great bowl game in a massive upset after all the political university crap and doing it with your brother starting at center for his 1st game experience all year.

That is just awesome.

Question for 55....

Where is Black Lives Matter when (in my opinion) we need them?

Maybe they only focus on police and shootings and stuff, I don't know. Do they care about black students being railroaded? If not, if they're focused elsewhere, that's fine. BUT....where is the NAACP?? Or another similar group? The silence is deafening.

But we all know the answer. All these groups are left-wing political groups who don't so much care about black people....at least not as much as they care about promoting the left-wing agenda. They have no interest in going up against left-wing feminism. Because ultimately....they are on the same side.

I'll hang-up and listen, pilgrims....

Pro Football Focus: Holiday Bowl Review

Good read here. Despite not being able to consistently put pressure on Falk, the Gopher defense was excellent, especially at linebacker and at the back end. Myrick is the highest graded Gopher as he played perhaps the best game of his career. Ayinde and Cashman also received very good reviews.

Gameday reads
Also, read the Michigan State preview for tonight's Big Ten opener. That game starts at 8, and Connor will be running the game thread.

Tyler Moore and Jared Weyler are both out. Mitch Leidner is wearing a brace on his arm but is expected to play. Kind of surprised that Matt Leidner is getting the call over Connor Mayes. Joe C is reporting that Jonah Pirsig (!) is working as the second team center.

Gophers are in gold/white/maroon.

I'd look out for Rodney Smith and some receivers to maybe get playing time at cornerback.

a brief summary

Given the various threads, I just wanted to highlight a fee of the main issues and maybe one or two not mentioned. Just trying to sift through it all.

1. Title IX...even Lawyers have strongly questioned it's constitutionality. This is greater than Kaler and Coyle.

2. U's handling of suspensions. Didn't uphold constitutional rights, released names amongst many other things. Timing...even other Universities question how it was handled. Is this about justice or saving face?

3. Kaler/ Coyle's handling...more panic and self preservation than anything.

4. Girl...is she a victim?...Police/DA dropped case.

5. Interesting no other Universities saying anything. We know from BTN, other U's feel MN handled wrong, but is this one of those dirty little secrets most if not about all have some degree of hidden guilt. For some reason MN teams have to face publicly what others have not had to!

6. Will Gophers have mass exodus of coaches/players/recruits...it pretty reasonable to assume some of all will be gone. How many will depend on how the U addresses Coach Claeys. Fon't Underestimate Coaches Support Of Player And Anger Towards U. Also look for other schools to quietly open doors due to opportunity and disagreement over how U has handled.

Just sifting through. Did i miss any main concerns?

Scoggins: After losing key defenders, Sawvel's adjusted game plan was master stroke for U
The suspensions from the sexual assault investigation left Sawvel without two defensive starters and four of his top six defensive backs — a tall order against any opponent. And Washington State's offense isn't just any offense.

SAN DIEGO – The news conference was over and Tracy Claeys was headed back to the locker room to celebrate with his team.

I stopped him and asked about a rumor that his star tailback Rodney Smith was prepared to play defense Tuesday night in the Holiday Bowl, if needed, after suspensions from the sexual assault investigation left the Gophers extremely shorthanded in the secondary.

Tears filled Claeys’ eyes and his voice trembled as he revealed that Smith approached him before the first bowl practice and offered to play defensive back. Smith even briefly ran onto the field at one point in the first half thinking his defensive package had been called.

I asked Claeys why he was so emotional.

More tears.

“Because we’ve got good kids,” he said. “They’re damn good kids.”

The events of the past two weeks have been devastating for Claeys, his program and the Gophers athletic department. We still don’t know the full extent of the fallout and whether it will cost Claeys his job or bring other significant changes.

But pent-up emotions came flooding out of the normally stoic head coach after watching his team upset Washington State 17-12 behind a defensive gem at Qualcomm Stadium.

“I get great joy in those guys sitting here smiling,” Claeys said.

The way his defense executed a creative game plan by coordinator Jay Sawvel should put a smile on his face.

The suspensions from the investigation left Sawvel without two defensive starters and four of his top six defensive backs — a tall order against any opponent. Washington State’s offense isn’t just any offense.

The Cougars ranked second nationally in passing this season at 371 yards per game, averaging 51 pass attempts. Their offense had the second-fewest running plays in all of FBS.

A severely undermanned secondary going against an offense that passes with assembly line efficiency and frequency — that’s like being asked to run a 100-yard dash while hopping on one leg.

The Gophers didn’t flinch, holding Washington State to its lowest point total of the season and 28 points below its average.

Claeys’ job status has been the subject of intense debate since scandal engulfed his program. Athletic director Mark Coyle hasn’t revealed his thoughts on Claeys’ future.

From a purely coaching perspective, Claeys’ acumen as a defensive strategist should not be ignored. The Claeys-Sawvel tandem has guided the defense to back-to-back top-25 finishes nationally. Those two men know how to build a winner on defense.

Sawvel outfoxed Leach by installing an unconventional plan that confused the Cougars. Sawvel gave a glimpse of his intentions on the game’s opening possession.

The Cougars lined up third-and-goal from the 9 and saw what had to be a strange look: a 1-4-6 alignment.

It worked brilliantly, along with a 2-4-5 alignment the Gophers also used regularly.

Washington State quarterback Luke Falk struggled to find open receivers as the Gophers dropped extra defenders into coverage while still being able to generate a pass rush.

Freshman cornerback Coney Durr made his first start and more than held his own until suffering a knee injury in the third quarter. He was replaced by freshman Zo Craighton, who had appeared mostly in mop-up duty. He held his own, too.

Sawvel’s plan maximized the strengths of his personnel, particularly at linebacker. That position has a deep group of young, fast playmakers led by Carter Coughlin, Kamal Martin and Blake Cashman.

Sawvel felt his defense became too predictable in its 4-3 scheme last season so, with Claeys’ blessing, he added more exotic wrinkles with his speedy linebackers.

Sawvel used his linebackers as stand-up defensive ends with fewer linemen in packages designed to create pass-rushing mismatches.

Those alignments bamboozled the Cougars and disrupted their timing. “We were frantic,” Washington State coach Mike Leach said. “We unraveled.”

Credit the Gophers for making them unravel and not the other way around, as many predicted given everything that happened leading up to the game.

What happens next remains unknown. But the Gophers proved resilient after a tumultuous few weeks. That made their coach smile, and then cry.

Interesting rumors in Columbus.

I said that Billy Davis, former defensive assistant coach in the NFL, would get hired at Ohio State.. Davis met Urban Meyer back in the mid 1980's and was Meyer's best man in his wedding... Davis has NFL experience in elaborate blitz schemes, especially in the 3-4 defense.. i would think that one of their star recruits, Baron Browning, will alternate between standing up as a LB and a down lineman as as DE, if Davis has his way.

The other interesting rumor involves Kevin Wilson, former Indiana coach.... I have heard that Wilson may be consulting the Buckeyes for this bowl game on offense but don't know to what level.. No big deal if its a few phone calls as many coaches do that with each other.. But someone that is doing more than that, it becomes a more interesting story. Would be an interesting hire for the Buckeyes if he becomes offensive coordinator, next year... Explosive offenses at Oklahoma before Indiana.. Wilson has proved that a former offensive lineman and offensive line coach can have explosive offenses.. More rumor than anything right now but something to keep an eye on in the upcoming off season,

Key excerpt:
"The bottom line in this one: WSU was outcoached. No big deal. It happens to everyone some time or other. It happened to the Cougars in San Diego.

No matter how often Leach and Falk says they were ready for everything the Gophers did defensively, the game tape says it’s not true. There is no way Falk is that bad reading defenses – especially if he expected them. He was surprised. Often.

Which is a tribute to Minnesota and its staff – and its players."
