"Game On: Huskers v. Gophers" - Lincoln Journal Star

There is a lot more at the link.

HOW DO THE HUSKERS LIGHT UP THE SCOREBOARD?

1. Have an offensive line that is sick and tired of the last five weeks and shows up on a mission and with a bad attitude. The old O-line band is almost all back together with Jerald Foster's return. The goal was for NU to be a top-three running team in the Big Ten. The Huskers have dropped to fifth. Time to make a charge...

HOW DO THE BLACKSHIRTS SHUT 'EM DOWN?

1. Limit yards after contact. You can say this every week, but think of past Nebraska-Minnesota games when it hasn't gone well for the Huskers. In those games, you'll remember Gophers taking runs that looked like 2 or 3 yards and falling forward until 5 or 6 yards were had...

TOMMY ARMSTRONG

QB, No. 4: All signs have pointed to the senior playing Saturday after going through concussion protocol. If he's considered healthy enough to play, he's considered healthy enough to do everything he normally does.

THERE'S A HUSKER PARTY IF …

Gophers bring enough Dilly bars for everyone (Dairy Queen is based in Minneapolis). ... Tommy is healthy, Tommy runs, Tommy throws no picks. ... Minnesota team plane travels through time warp on way to Lincoln that makes it 1983 again.

SUNDAY BRUNCH STINKS FOR HUSKER FANS IF …

Repeated stat of the day is about how Nebraska hadn't lost three straight since 2008. No, that didn't even happen last year. ... Everyone's talking about that big game the final week of the season to decide the West: Minnesota-Wisconsin.

THANK YOU, VETS!!!!

"Truly sacrificing for a cause beyond self" is becoming an increasingly foreign concept to citizens all over. Unfortunately, many of us have become self-involved without any sense of appreciation for those who sacrifice for us, or more importantly, wanna jump in and become part of the solution ourselves. I want to ALWAYS encourage those who have done a large part to defend our freedoms.. I don't want to ever think that we can take our freedom for granted.

The Marines just had their birthday, so I want to say thank you for those who have served in that great branch of the military. To those like my brother(ARMY) who has done 3 tours in Iraq, and my Dad, much appreciated to help those with the mission they were given and trained to succeed. If we are a divided nation, I pray At LEAST we can agree how fortunate we are to have the military vets who sacrificed so that we can go to work and school with peace compared to many other countries.. Vets, you are always in my prayers and are FAR AND AWAY, the true heroes of our country.. All I can offer you is a humble, "THANK YOU" for serving and protecting us... Happy VETERANS DAY!!!

Get out and buy your goggles

There appears to be no real excitement

And I guess I fall into that camp, too. It's more of a wait and see approach for me right now.

4-2 is pretty solid for in conference and most years that would be cause for great excitement coming down the stretch. But I just don't think this team is for real. Even being "relevant" this time of year and getting national mentions as West contenders doesn't feel right.

Here's to hoping the team plays big on Saturday and gives us some tangible reasons to feel good about them!

Bravo to OKWU President

Whether you are a conservative, liberal or independent;. I urge you to read this letter. It was written by the president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University after a soft student complained a sermon. To me, this student represents a part of the problem in this country and what Trump struck a cord with with his non PC speeches.

Riley doesn't expect offense to be limited at all if Armstrong plays

From Lincoln Journal Star. The link has an injury report in there also.

Riley said he appreciates the procedures in place nowadays in dealing with all injuries.

"When somebody is considered hurt, they're given to the trainer, and then the trainer and the doctor do what they do and we don't even talk about it until they give them back to us 100 percent. So if he is able to play, he is healthy."

That means if Armstrong does play, don't expect the offense to be limited in any way.

"We're talking about a guy we've been with for about a year-and-three-quarters, and he's been able to stay up on the game plan during the week, even though not practicing," Riley said. "And then (he's) getting some work Thursday, getting some work Friday. As many games as he's had, I'm not really worried about that."

J. Johnson vs. Leidner

Stating the obvious here, but there's been a lot of frustration with the fan base over these two and I'm wondering what your thoughts are their performance to date. Maybe the chicken and egg argument about their performances? Leidner maybe not performing as well due to how Johnson is game calling? Conversely, is Johnson handcuffed with his playbook because of what he believes Leidner is capable of doing? I would like to hear your thoughts on this topic. I've had some frustration with Johnson's game plans a couple times this year, however I'm beginning to think that the QB, his style, and his overall play may be dictating some of Johnson's head scratching play calls or game plans. I don't know, could be off, but interested to hear what others think.

To Johnson's credit, we're at 33 points per game which is a huge jump from last year.
