There's a new Coach's Corner out today, where HC Eggum discusses last weekend, and the two duals this weekend!

He said that it's been a little tough to be on the road so often lately, and that this may have made it more difficult for some guys (like Pat McKee) to control their weight cuts.

This weekend we have two duals that should be easier wins for us. On Friday night we are at IN for a 5pm dual streamed live on BTN+, then on Sunday we are back home for a 1pm dual with Purdue. This PU dual is Alumni Day, where Alums get in free, and their guests get in for $5. Also, any high school wrestling teams that submit their rosters all get in free, so far there are 8 MN teams attending the dual!!

The whole team and the Alums will be at Blarney's for a social afterwards, so come on down to the PU dual, it should be fun!!!

The percentage of high school athletes that get recruited to play any sport at the division one level is extremely low. The percentage of athletes who get recruited to play two sports at the division one level is practically zero. Bloomington, Minnesota's Daniel Freitag is defying those odds.

Minnesota volleyball got its first big "get" under the new coaching staff. Transfer addition Kylie Murr was defensive player of the year in the Big Ten for Ohio State. She is a libero. She will have one year left to play but fills a key role for the Gophers, next year. She is good friends with Minnesota setter Melani Shaffmaster.

Minnesota also got a visit this past weekend from an opposite hitter from the PAC 12 conference that had previously won conference honors. I have heard that Minnesota may try to bring in a potential transfer as a middle blocker, as well

Cortez Legrant , 5'10", 180 lb. RB from Sun Prairie WI, a 1st team Coaches All-State selection, has committed to Minnesota as a preferred walk-on. He had 1308 yards rushing on 159 carries and 21 rush TDs, plus 15 receptions for 254 yards and 3 TDs this past season.

He runs track also, with PRs of 11.0 in the 100M, and 22.47 in the 200M last spring.

Pretzlaff was at Minnesota's Jr. Day on Monday. Just announced an offer from the Gophers on Twitter, followed by a commitment. He also held offers from Illinois and Central Michigan. Had 115 tackles, five sacks, and two interceptions during his junior season while also earning First-Team All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference honors.
