Gopher players to protest game

Led by Drew Wolitarsky, the Gopher players addressed the media all wearing their jersey's. He announced that the players will boycott all football activities until all 10 players get their suspensions lifted.

The whole team met with Coyle yesterday, and he did not give them any answers. Wolitarsky made a strong statement regarding the reputations of the players. Also said decision to suspend was Coyle's, not Claeys.

Leidner spoke on how the reputations have been destroyed of those involved. They will not participate until their demands are met.

A few coaches, including Mike Sherels stood with the players.

Drew Wolitarsky Statement

“Our team as friends and brothers have a statement to make. We the united Gopher football team, issue this statement to take back the reputation and integrity of our program and our brothers that have faced unjust Title IX investigation without due process. We are concerned that our brothers have been named publicly, with reckless disregard in violation of their constitutional rights. We are now compelled to speak and take back our program. This movement was largely motivated by a recent and disappointing meeting conducted by Mark Coyle. We wanted answers but received misleading statements. Moreover, the actions by President Kaler have breached judiciary duty, not only to the ten falsely accused, but all of us. We demand a meeting with the board of regents, Schuh and Roscha without the presence of Kaler and Coyle to discuss how to make our program great again. We also want to address the unjust suspensions and other concerns in this closed door meeting.

Effective immediately, we will boycott all football activities. The boycott will remain in effect until due process is followed and the suspensions of all ten players are lifted. We further request that Kaler and Coyle an apology and demand that these leaders are held accountable for their actions. This decision for the players to take this stance is not easy, but important to preserve the integrity of the program and ourselves. We know that the Holiday Bowl Committee, Washington State, and the fans are affected by this decision. To that end, we request that the Holiday Bowl Committee be patient during this time while Mark Coyle considers reversing his decision to suspend. We also request that Mark Coyle make this decision with due haste. Finally, we request that the University retain from retaliation from our coaches, players and fans. This effort is by players and for players.”

New Studies have scientists concerned it's 'Game Over'

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/s...imate-sensitivity-seven-degrees-a7407881.html

'It is a vision of a future so apocalyptic that it is hard to even imagine.

But, if leading scientists writing in one of the most respected academic journals are right, planet Earth could be on course for global warming of more than seven degrees Celsius within a lifetime.

And that, according to one of the world’s most renowned climatologists, could be “game over” – particularly given the imminent presence of climate change denier Donald Trump in the White House.'

Scary stuff. I recommend the whole article. It's time to work together.

One of my most conservative friends, a guy who works in finance and thinks Mitt Romney is the greatest guy ever, posted this on my wall tonight:

"Every once in a great while the stars align and [first name redacted]^^^ and I see eye to eye politically :)

100% agreed that Ts stance on climate change is ridiculous. It would be tragic if he can unwind the progress we have made there. Climate change should not be a partisan issue. 97% of scientists believe in it, I'm pretty sure the other 3% are getting paid not to."

This is a guy who always votes Republican. His father was a longtime US Republican Senator, etc.

55 is now happy! This team is united!

Let me teach you guys, the beauty of sports is this. These kids spend so much time together, they know each other well. The color line is blurred when you bleed together, sweat together. There is no way this team unites behind 10 knuckleheads. These are good kids that are getting screwed. And there
Stand confirms they didn't do anything wrong. Consensual sex is not wrong. If we are tolerant you can't stuff the gay thing down my throat
And make a judgement on others forms of sex.

The police dismissed all charges, ALL charges. Now, We are protecting a young lady, wait! But it's ok to completely throw 10 kids under the bus? She was clearly not raped, she consented and then got embarrassed when others found out. Seen this one 1,000 times. It's extremely hard for a young lady to justify that it was ok to get banged to others especially their female
Peers, it plays better to cry and be a victim.

The best part was that Woli was the face.
Brilliant! Takes on another vibe all
Together. Now this is not lead by an angry black
Mob of BLM. It's led by a clean cut....white dude!
LOVE IT!!!!' Told y'all nitwits. White men can get this done.

Y'all are cowards. Now hire a brotha

How much would the U lose

So if the "We have had enough" players didn't play in the bowl game and enough other players followed, so the U couldn't field a team, how much would the U have to pony up?

If they go out on strike, I'm behind them. This BS has to stop.

Yes I know a girl was MAYBE taken advantage of. But what bothers me is the Police and the U didn't find enough to charge any of these players, and yet our mafia committee can step in and try to expel them.

We should ALL agree on this ...

1. The players made bad, no terrible, moral decisions to perform a train on a girl even if she is consensual.

Unfortunately, we were all young, dumb. And full of cum back in the day. Also, I bet a ton of these kids didnt have the best upbringing and parental examples.

The U made every mistake imaginable in releasing the names, etc. The U has an outdated and illegal code of conduct policy and implementation policy. The U botched this in every way possible.

Yes the kids did some dirty stuff and should be put in some kind of tutoring/therapy. No, the kids should not be punished when it comes to their eligibility and their student athlete status.

It is that simple.

55 is really sad!

I've been called a racist
I've been called a troll
I've been called a race baiter
Yesterday I got called a racist nitwit (new one)
I've never retaliated.

For the sane people who have a heart and are objective......55 ain't crazy!

It's hard out hea. Hire a brotha and promote him for no reason. Why? Cause he been through a lot. At this point, it's fair to say these kids are getting treated unfairly. I'm sure their families are agonizing, these kids are the pride and joy of their families, communities and have achieved in life. And have run into a buzz saw. The police did the due diligence but
Some want blood. take all 10 down? There is no way, all 10 deserve this.

Honestly, America won't change until white men get pissed off and do something. It's like the devil is systematically trying to destroy black men. Trust me, yes there are self inflicted wounds in the black community. But America doesn't do a black man no favors. Cra cra!!!'

Maybe the players should go on strike.

If they feel like they and their teammates are not being treated fairly. Skip the Holiday Bowl. Maybe the basketball team could strike and skip a non-conference game as a show of support. After all, they are a target too. Lynch....as well as what is sure to happen in the future. With the policies currently in place, more suspensions are SURE to happen again. Probably sooner than later.

Just an idea. They could wait and see if Lee Hutton or other attorneys can blow the lid off first.

So who plays?

I assume Travis and Ayinde will start at safety. Or maybe Huff plays safety and Ayinde plays nickel?

Myrick - CB

After that, who else plays. I'm sure we have to play 5 d-backs on most downs.

Coney Durr probably starts at the other corner?

Others available:

Zo Craighton - I assume we're going to see a lot of him.
Eric Amoaeke - He's gotten a few snaps this year apparently. Probably see him some.

They've already said the redshirt stays on Thomas. And I also assume Ace Rogers is still not going to go? So that basically gives us 7 guys to try and contain the Pirate. Guess it could be worse, although I'm not sure how.

Beyond that it seems to be walkons listed as DB on the roster:

Cooper Dorborwulu
Joey Gorgen
Alexander Starks
Calvin Swenson
Brady Weiland
