Brown's Springfield squad came up short in the Division 1 Ohio high school state championship in football 23-13.. They lost to perennial state power Lakewood St. Eds. Brown had 6 catches for 103 yards and a TD. Looked good tonight.
I would describe Brown's game as similar to Leo Lewis, from back in the day for the Vikings.. Brown is a cool customer under pressure and has good hands. He runs pretty good routes and is a smart player. Deceptively fast. Definitely a D1 recruit. I am happy with him coming to the Gophers.
There is one more day of state championships to go but a kid I want to see the Gophers recruit is a freshman starter on a state runnerup in Division 2 at Akron Hoban.. His name is Micah Rice and he is a safety. He is a rangy kid with a lot of confidence and not afraid to make the big hit. Nice size for a freshman, as well.
