THere is probably not a single player on Loyola Chicago that Minnesota would have been interested in recruiting, when these players came out of high school.. But they got the right mix with great coaching of the fundamentals and skill development. That is why they got so far in the tournament. That said, Michigan had too many guns at the end and played good defense. Congratulations to the Wolverines and to the Ramblers.

Loyola had the right game plan.. They played from TV timeout to TV timeout very well for the first 32 minutes of the game. They have talent coming back next year but each year is different so who knows the results next year... But when I heard Porter Moser was a disciple of Rick Majerus, then I knew he had a good grasp of the X's and O's, so they will always have a chance in games if they can get the right kids in attitude who want to develop their skills... Just did not have enough horses to finish the job.

I love when the reward of good coaching, kids that buy into a system and play as a team, do the little things it takes to win games, COME TOGETHER TO SUCCEED.. It gives others hope to say they can make the Final Four in the future with the same formula. Those Loyola kids scrambled for loose balls and stayed true to who they were and just played their hearts out... As a fan of the game, I was proud of those kids.. I hope the Gopher players watched that and set themselves a goal to develop their skill and the coaches of Minnesota take the challenge of coaching the kids up more than ever, because there is always that chance.

This is why I love college basketball and this is why I am sorry the season has to come to an end... We still have one more game tonight between giants of the college basketball world and of course Monday's championship.. But regardless what happens. this has been another great year to watch the best tournament in all of sports!!!
