is the best example of why anyone who is involved in scouting/recruiting of this sport should be putting as much emphasis on getting a competent/elite QB as you possibly can. I mean I'm talking nearly all resources exhausted to find a solution to that position. There is no other position of higher importance if you want the magic recipe to be successful. You can be below/well below average at all other positions (especially offense) and STILL i mean STILL come out looking like you have talent all over the field due to that one position. It's incredible. Ever see a Green Bay receiver leave Green Bay and be successful elsewhere? 1 man can literally change the direction and have that much power of your program in a positive/negative way.
- A QB impacts your running game. Can open up lanes and holes to run in
- A QB can keep your defense off the field for longer periods of time to keep them fresh
- A QB can give your special teams better field position and more opportunities
- A QB can help your clock management at the end of halves/games
This isn't rocket science yet some don't put the utter most importance into finding the right one who can do all of these things for your football team.
Good news: I think Fleck knows this
