The thread on him being named as a starter is full of optimism. I don't think I read a single negative sounding comment. Not one. Which is great! But...is it realistic?
He's a true freshman QB.
I don't disagree that it was the right choice to name him as starter. But is the excitement around his actual ability to have short-term success, or is it excitement that he's a true frosh to possibly groom for the future and grow around long term? Personally, I think he's gonna have growing pains and the offense will again struggle to put up big plays, explosive plays and ultimately points. I think Fleck will have to rely on winning low scoring punt fests.
