Not meant to be a criticism, just a discussion point. Trying to think like an opponents Defensive Coordinator and it seems like
- Irving substituting in for Potts. Definite running play. In each of his carries, BG brought the house
- Williams in the backfield, high tendency is a pass play due to his blocking ability
- We set up our play at the line, read the D alignment, look to the sidelines to see if we change the play. BG baited that tendency numerous times, showing a false defense, waiting for our sideline look, and then moving their players to a different look right before the snap. They knew they had the time to do so, and were more flexible to react than us, in many cases they have 15 seconds or more to stare at our offensive set and personnel.
- At least on Saturday, our lack of a quick game to the edges of the field cost us. (WR screens, WR sweeps) BG was able to reduce the size of the field and pressure Morgan before things developed. BSF dragged a quick route out of that congestion early for a good gain, they tried it again and then gave up. That was sort of like a TE screen but . .
