I dont think that any of us will hear a press conference that is earth shattering whether the Gophers win or lose the rest of the games... I dont think Coach Fleck has a choice, at this point,, His plan is now in action and the way to do things is established... Its his program now and no sense in reliving the past coaching regimes, IMO..

To me,"YEAR ZERO" means that what Coach Fleck is trying to define in a successful season as successfully accomplishing the establishment of an attitude and a way of doing things that are incorporated in all the player's/coach's/football personnel's lives. SUCCESS IS DEFINED OFF THE FIELD AND NOT NECESSARILY ON THE FIELD, FOR THIS YEAR.. It is a way of doing things that Fleck believes is true.. Yes I am repeating what everyone knows but I bet he is feeling internal pressure in relation to the player's performance ON THE FIELD and subsequently Gopher fans who will put their butts in the seats of TCF..

If I were Fleck, I would feel a self induced pressure as Gopher fans are paying a ton of money to support the team and see the games while this process of building the team is in progress. Plus constantly instilling in the players that these failures are leading to successes of the future. A lot of money spent by Gopher fans when the team will probably finish with a .500 record or below. Fleck has to incorporate that better days are ahead to keep the fanbase.. I am guessing the players are the ones that have the LEAST AMOUNT OF DOUBT....I am sure he is hoping the big donors see his vision... This becomes even more pressure when the team has not won a conference championship in over 50 years. Coach knows we all want a winner as does he and the players. When spending a ton of money, we want that winner to happen much sooner than later.. Especially for the fans who are getting up there in years.. I am middle aged so i hope I have a few years left on this earth but I so want the team to succeed for the ones older than me who have been faithful to the program for years...I bet Fleck is empathetic to that as well, so his message will have to be "just hang with us a little longer, I have done this before and I promise it will get better"... There is no other choice or turning back at this point.
