Michigan State has the makings of one of the best recruiting classes in the Big Ten since the Fab Five, 25 years ago. Hard to believe it has almost been that long. Tom Izzo is a guy we have all talked about as being one of the best and a guy I cheer for when it doesn't involve the Gophers. He has probably his highest rated class there ever. coming in next year if all the commits remain committed to the Spartans.

-5 star Joshua Langford, a 6-6 SG from Alabama.. Related to Jeremy Langford, former Michigan State RB.

-4 star Nick Ward a 6-8 PF from Columbus.. His dad Jeff was one of the best NAIA college basketball players I have ever seen in Ohio and his mother, Stephanie, was an all sport athlete that I watched throughout her high school years. So good genetics. Similar game to Zach Randolph. former Spartan.

-4 star Cassius Winston from Detroit. A 6-0 PG that is just a winner.. Just committed last week.

They are running, neck and neck, with Kentucky for Miles Bridges, a 5 star small forward playing at Huntington Prep but originally from Flint, Michigan (a hotspot for Michigan State recruiting over the years). I hear he played with Winston in AAU and they visited Michigan State together.

I am not sure how serious Josh Jackson, the number 1 player in the class, is in Michigan State but he is originally from Detroit and lists Michigan State as one of his teams that has mutual interest. If Michigan State gets Bridges, this becomes a top 2-3 class with Duke and depending what Kentucky ends up as far as top players.. May be even without Bridges. If Jackson commits with Bridges, I am sure they go to the number 1 class in the country. Interesting that guys like Izzo and Coach K are recruiting better at their age, than they ever have before in terms of talent ranking.
