I watched the replay of the games last night on FSN. There was a third down play in the 4th quarter where Illinois needed a yard and a half or two yards. Coughlin had great penetration and tackled the Illinois running back behind the LOS. The play happened right in front of my seats, and I thought there was no way the running back made the line of gain in real time. Watching the replay, it was clear that the running back was at least a yard short. The announcers thought so too. I do not know how the referees can get that call wrong with the benefit of replay. It seemed like the officiating crew was giving Illinois favorable spots the entire game.
