Toledo Rogers girls won the Ohio Division 2 state championship in girls basketball today 51-37.. Junior guard Zia Cooke had 33 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals in victory for Rogers.. Zia played on the United State U17 national team where she averaged double figures... IT WAS MENTIONED IN THE RADIO BROADCAST THAT MINNESOTA IS RECRUITING HER.... I can tell you from watching her that she is an incredibly special player... Yes, Ohio State is in the picture and UCONN is starting to talk to her.
I don't know If she would be a star right away or not but I can tell you she is a tough girl inside and outside..She is a 3.5 GPA student wanting to go into sports broadcasting. Her brother played JC football and Zia grew up playing football with her brother.. Zia also trains in boxing so toughness is not an issue.. Great speed and can shoot from all over... Just got my attention when the broadcast said she had interest in Minnesota. South Carolina is also in the picture and I think she will be an excellent college player wherever she goes.
