I admit that I have had them and their wives/kids in my prayers since I read about them... I was touched by Ben's song to his wife and daughters.. There is a soft spot in my heart for all the good guys that have devoted their lives to entertain fans like me and had concussions, as a result.

My Dad is from Green Bay, WIsconsin and is an avid Packers fan... My Mom is from St Paul and is an avid Vikings fan, as am I.. I talked to Dad on the phone the other day and I told him that as I get older, I just want the Vikings to get a championship and I may not spend a ton of time watching the sport anymore.. It used to be banter about the Packers vs. Vikings but I just want one title as a Vikings fan and I will be satisfied.

I admit I was originally challenged to think about this subject of concussions by the Hilgenbergs.. Obviously, Wally played for the Vikings, John for the Saints, and Jay for the Bears...Sometimes, it gets harder for me to cheer for a sport that has so much history in having sustained head injuries for the rest of the lives of players. I LOVE the sport of football but as I get older, I love quality people more than that and that is more important to me.

I just think that everything I have read about Utecht and Campion is that they were exceptionally quality people..I admit I pray for them a lot.. I would like to know if anyone keeps up with them or their families and how they are doing, as it means a lot to me what their sacrifices have been, as well as others, for the game they loved and CHOSE to play.
