I hate to say this as a Gopher fan. I love Gopher basketball but just don't see any postseason tournament in the cards for us, including an NIT bid. Schedule and team injuries look to be too much for our Gophers, at this point... I WANT THE BASKETBALL TEAM TO PERFORM AND MAKE ME EAT MY WORDS!!!!! This is the rundown of the final 7 games for the Gophers before the Big 10 tournament.
February 3 @ Michigan.... John Beilein recruits how I wish Minnesota would recruit... He usually has 5 guys on the floor that can handle the ball,.shoot it, and are athletic... Michigan could run the table going into the conference tournament as their toughest opponent left is Ohio State.. I predict a Michigan win against Minnesota.
February 6 Nebraska. The game is at the barn but Tim Miles has his guys playing good basketball.. Win for Nebby.
February 9 @Indiana... Minnesota could surprise in this game,, If our guards shoot well, we could steal one here. Still, Indiana has to be the favorite here.
February 13 Michigan State.. We don't match up well with Michigan State.. With their depth and our lack of it, we will get beat in this one, IMO. They are very talented.
February 19 @ Wisconsin..... This is one that the Gophers could get if we play well. Would be a big 'pick me up' if we went into Madison and beat our rivals to the east. Toss-up game here
February 21 Iowa.. Iowa scores a ton of points but does not play defense.. I want to send off Nate Mason as a winner after a trying season, in his last home game.. I say Minnesota pulls this off.
February 28 @ Purdue.. One of the best teams in the nation on their senior day.... Purdue will win this by double digits. Could get really ugly for the Gophers in this one.
At best, I say the Gophers go 3-4 down the stretch.. Of course the worst is if we don't win another game... Guys need to dig deep to get any victories at this stage.
