Washington (Ill.) three star ranked junior offensive tackle prospect JJ Guedet (6-foot-8, 280 pounds) had a standout performance on Sunday at the Under Armour camp in Northbrook. Guedet, who's now up to an impressive 280 pounds checks in and recaps his spring plans and more here.

"I've been just working out and I have one more AAU basketball tournament in Minneapolis for this summer," Guedet said. "So we will take one more visit up to Minnesota this summer and hopefully convince a few other kids to commit to the Gophers."

So has Guedet drawn any additional recruiting looks or offers since he committed to Minnesota back in early March?

"I added offers from Indiana and West Virginia. We have had some college coaches stop into school and I still get an occasional call or two from coaches but that's been about it so far."

So how has Guedet handled the increased recruiting attention since his commitment from Minnesota?

"If they (other schools) call me I'll talk to them. I'm not rude and try to be as polite as I can with them. I check in with Coach (PJ) Fleck all the time and I let him know which schools have called and who I've talked to and we have a good relationship that way. I don't want him to worry about me at all and that nothing has changed with me whatsoever. I'm still 100 percent committed to Minnesota."

Guedet, who has been committed to Minnesota since the early March plan to help the Gophers add a few Land of Lincoln names he has in mind.

"I'm going to arm wrestle Jason Bargy and get him to come up with us to Minnesota. I also have an AAU teammates from last year (Quincy four star ranked running back Jirehl Brock) who I'm also going to convince to join us. He's a great kid and I really wish he would come join us. I'm just trying my best to do my part for Gopher recruiting."

Guedet, who played last season around the 245-250 pound range has added good weight and bulk this off season.

"I just ate everything I could get my hands on. I'm also lifting in the mornings with my Dad. If I'm hungry I go get a snack. My Dad tells me that if I'm hungry then I'm not gaining anything so I've been just really focused on just eating more frequently."

Guedet is also excited for his team's chances this coming season.

"We return a lot of guys from last year who are back. Last year seeing a team from our conference (Dunlap) make it to the state title game has been a driving force for us. It's something that's in the back of our minds to keep working harder because we want to be that team this year."

JJ Guedet is verbally committed to Minnesota.
