- P.J. on Tanner Morgan: "He is getting a lot better...I don't want to have to pull his redshirt. I am pulling enough redshirts."
- P.J. on Rodney Smith: "He has great vision, great balance. He does really well in pass protection. He just has to continue to get better."
- P.J. on building a culture: "When you are doing things for people you will never quit."
- P.J. on Joe Tiller: "Joe Tiller is one of the best coaches and best people in Big Ten history."
