I don't have any "INs" so I am relegated to message boards to find out who the Gophers are recruiting.. I am sure that Ben Johnson is doing a lot, behind the scenes, which we don't know.. I know he needs PGs desperately. Plus, he doesn't want to miss on a player that he could build the program around, if possible. A center and tall scoring wing is on the wish list. Plus Ben has to get that 3rd assistant hired and on board.
I just want to know who is listed just because they are from Minnesota or the Upper Midwest, who had some contact with staff in the past and were only listed for that reason, OR WHO WE ARE SERIOUSLY IN TALKS WITH TO COME TO MINNESOTA.. I realize that everyone is a target, somewhat, at this point. But I would like to know how serious our talks are with players.
I have heard the names Theo John, Filip Rebraca, and Dawson Garcia(who I dont think ever made the portal but declared for the NBA draft without hiring an agent). I just heard the Mac McClung kid is on the market. Then I heard the name of Faulkner at the PG. The rest of the names previously mentioned have committed elsewhere. Is Ben tight lipped about prospects until decisions are ready to be made?? That would not necessarily bother me, but just wondering who we are in serious talks about signing with the Gophers.
