No. 5 Gopher Volleyball
Minnesota (19-2) remained fifth in the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Poll. Big Ten rival Penn State remains the top-ranked team in the nation, receiving 52-of-64 first-place votes. In fact, the entire top-25 did not change week-to-week.
Previously: The Gophers extended their winning streak to seven matches, sweeping Ohio State on Wednesday night and knocking off No. 9 Wisconsin in four games on Saturday at Maturi Pavilion.
Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will host Illinois Wednesday night in Minneapolis and live on Big Ten Network. The team then heads to New Jersey this weekend to take on Rutgers Saturday night.
No. 6 Gopher Women’s Hockey
Minnesota (5-2-1) continued its ascension in the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll, gaining another spot this week ahead of a key weekend. WCHA rival Wisconsin remains the top-ranked team, receiving 11-of-15 first-place votes.
Previously: The Gophers made it four consecutive victories with a sweep of Minnesota Duluth last weekend, defeating the Bulldogs 4-1 on Friday and 2-1 on Saturday on the road.
Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will host the aforementioned No. 1 Badgers this Saturday and Sunday in a series at Ridder Arena. Sunday’s game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network at 5 p.m.
No. 7 Gopher Men’s Hockey
Minnesota (3-3-0) moved back up one spot to the No. 7 position in this week’s USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll. Denver remains the top-ranked team in the nation, holding 33 first-place votes.
Previously: The Gophers split a weekend series against No. 4 North Dakota on the road last weekend in Grand Forks, defeating the Fighting Hawks 2-1 on Friday night.
Up Next: The Maroon & Gold host their next four games at 3M Arena at Mariucci, beginning with a weekend set against No. 9 Clarkson this Friday and Saturday night.
No. 17 Gopher Women’s Swimming & Diving
Minnesota remained no. 17 in the nation in the latest TYR/CSCAA Division I Women’s Poll. Top-ranked Stanford continues to hold the No. 1 spot from the preseason rankings.
Previously: The Gophers opened the season with a victory in a dual against Florida State back on Oct. 7.
Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will open Big Ten competition on Friday night at Iowa at 5 p.m. before hosting Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State the following week at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Minnesota jumped from outside the top-25 all the way to No. 18 in the most recent USTFCCCA Division I Men’s National Coaches Poll. Minnesota also ranks second in the Midwest region behind only No. 10 Oklahoma State.
