No. 1 Gopher Volleyball
Minnesota (8-0) remains the top-ranked team in the nation in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Top 25 poll, claiming 40 of 64 first-place votes.

Previously: The Gophers remain undefeated after a 3-0 weekend at the Texas Tournament in Austin last week. Minnesota defeated No. 5 Texas 3-1 to highlight the weekend with first-year outside hitter Stephanie Samedy earning ESPNW National Player of the Week honors after tallying a season-best 22 kills against the Longhorns.

Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will travel to Idaho this weekend for another three-match tournament appointment, this time hosted by Boise State. Friday, the Gophers take Oregon State at 11 a.m. (local Minneapolis time) and the host Broncos at 6:30 p.m. before a match-up with Idaho State on Saturday at 11 a.m. The team then returns home next week to open Big Ten play with #16 Michigan visiting the Maturi Pavilion on Friday, Sept. 22 (Buy Tickets).

No. 23 Gopher Women's Cross Country
Minnesota moved up one spot in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll and ranked second in the Midwest Region.

Previously: The Gophers claimed first place while hosting the Oz Memorial Run at Les Bolstad Course on Friday evening. Redshirt freshman Abby Kohut-Jackson earned top individual honors with a time of 22:35.6 in the field of five teams and 63 runners.

Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will be off this weekend in preparation for the Roy Griak Invitational at Bolstad on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Gopher Men's Tennis
While teams are not ranked in the fall season, a pair of Gopher men's tennis players have earned national individual and doubles rankings in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Collegiate Tennis Rankings. ITA tabbed seniors Matic Spec and Felix Corwin as no. 39 and no. 83, respectively, with the top 125 players in the nation ranked. The pairing also landed as the no. 55 doubles team.

Up Next: The Maroon & Gold will open their season next week, splitting the team between the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, California from Sept. 21-24 and the Milwaukee Classic in Milwaukee, Wis. from Sept. 22-24.
