Ed Marinaro was the 2nd round draft pick of the Vikings in 1972.... He was the first NCAA player to rush for over 4000 yards in a career...He had close to 1900 yards rushing and 24 TDs his senior year... He played at Cornell, which is an Ivy League school.

He ended up being runner up in the Heisman trophy to Pat Sullivan who was a QB at Auburn...He won many awards that year for being the nation's top RB. Marinaro is now in his late 60s and is married to former popular fitness instructor, Tracy York..

I just think it is interesting to reflect back in history of the attitudes... My guess is today, if a guy had 2500 yards in one season and 7000 career yards but played in the Ivy League, would not get the respect for post season awards let alone runner up for the Heism

Like to hear your thoughts on Marinaro and his accolades as to how or if that translates to today's game and attitude towards Ivy League players.
