but the haters are vindicated by the unbelievable repetition of Sid's question to Tracy, who to his credit humors Sid and tries to put a slightly different spin/added info onto answering the same handful of questions week after week:
1) Are you going to throw the ball a lot more this year?
This is a weird question because we threw the ball a ton down the stretch last year. Tracy always responds 'we'll take what the defense gives us and Mitch is great but the RBs are great too so it's a balance'
2) Who are some redshirt freshmen who are going to contribute?
Claeys started out the first couple times only listing redshirt frosh. Did that through spring camp. After spring camp TC started talking up the true frosh as well. Now, Tracy has also added talking about JUCOs and other scholarship guys who aren't frosh but haven't contributed much yet.
3) Did you ever think you'd be a head coach?
C'mon, Sid. Tracy always says he 'wanted to take over for Coach Kill but I didn't think it would be this soon. We share a lot of the same values, and I owe everything to Coach, etc., etc.
Dave Mona does a great job on the air, but you'd think after all these years that he could talk to Sid during the commercial break before the segment and remind Sid to ask some questions he hasn't asked every Sunday for 12 weeks running.
So yeah, I usually defend Sid. Mostly, I just admire anybody who is 95 and still works a lot. I smiled to see Sid out in front with a microphone asking questions of TC and the players at the opening press conference.
