Is program reputation and the "looks test" the criteria to make college FB top 4??

Let me start this discussion by starting a VERY LITTLE DISCUSSED TOPIC... Kill vs. Claeys vs. Fleck.....Ok, I am just kidding.

College football playoff rankings are interesting to me in the logic used to determine teams.. Which logic is applied to rationalize what ranking..

For instance, the argument that Wisconsin hasn't played anyone..... Ok I can buy that to an extent but Wisconsin is a power 5 conference team that will probably be close to undefeated(unless the Gophers change that)....Wisconsin cant help the conference schedule with 14 teams in the conference..Just like Iowa a few years ago. The out of conference games were probably scheduled before knowing how good or bad those teams would be plus there is the letting of smaller schools have a shot like Florida Atlantic this year.. All Big Ten teams have done that...MY PROBLEM WITH THE LOGIC IS WHO HAS ALABAMA BEATEN THIS YEAR?? Florida State is terrible and I am nt sure that having their QB healthy would have saved them in some of their games this year so saying they beat the Seminoles is not saying much this year. WHO HAS GEORGIA BEATEN BESIDES SQUEAKING BY NOTRE DAME?? The SEC East is terrible this year...

Ohio State beat Penn State. That should account for something. I am a fan of putting Notre Dame in the top 4 with their victories....Oklahoma got beat by Iowa State though that is not looking too bad after the Cyclones backed it up by beating TCU. Clemson loses to an unranked team and drops just a few spots in other polls.. Ohio State loses to a top 5 team at the time and drops many more places than Clemson dropped.. I dont get it..

I know you can make arguments, pro and con,for a lot of these teams.. I would just like the committee to admit it is mostly based on the "LOOKS TEST" and reputation of the program.. Alabama will be in the top 4 if they get to the conference championship undefeated.. Even if Georgia gets to the SEC championship and beats Alabama, I still think that voters will keep the Crimson Tide in the top 4... The committee wants it that way... I am guessing Notre Dame will be there unless they flub it up with a loss in the next few weeks. They still have a couple opponents that could give them problems. Auburn has enough talent to give the SEC top teams some problems.. Clemson has a relatively easy path but I still think their high rating is based on the "looks test" of their potential and program reputation..

I am still an advocate of a 16 team playoff regardless of who thinks that is too many teams..That way 16 teams have a chance to prove it on the field. I would rather have an argument of the 16th vs. 17th ranked teams as opposed to the 4th vs the 5th to get in the playoffs.. A team like Wisconsin could still have a shot at the final 4 this way.. Maybe reduce the regular season a game or 2..That would give the same 14 games that a team that wins the natty would play now...It is fun but I just think the logic of explanation is sometimes a bit shady... I just think they could admit the reputation and looks of the athletes at the school are a big reason for why those teams are rated... They already say its part of the process but I think its a bigger part than most want to admit...

WHO IS YOUR TOP 4 TEAMS??

I would say AT THIS POINT it is (in no order)...Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama... And I admit a lot of it is on the looks test and reputation of the programs.
