Since my family and I have been very outspoken about the U events over the last 6 months, there was significant angst as to keeping our tickets, maintaining our support of the U. We were very close for a variety of reasons, not just about the U, on pulling the plug on all U support, shifting to four other universities we also have supported long-term (just move the dollars, and maybe spend less time).

On another board @bradt42 asked a very valid, worthy question. figured it was fair to share here, given my prior commentary.

Here was my response:

kept tickets. lots of up, down and around discussion, even for reasons unrelated to the U.

we decided our loyalty is to the original U and the sports programs. not to one individual. not to one coach, not to one dept head, not to one admin, not to one regent, not to one professor, not one certain player. even if i despise one certain coach, U representative et al, we will support the program and the student athletes as a whole that make up the backbone of those programs. all those individuals, with their good and bad traits, come and go. the student athlete programs are forever.
