One of my favorite coastal areas of our nation. Phil Mickelson is my favorite golfer to watch and he is hitting the golf ball now, better than he has in many years. Got his 44th pro title, which is impressive and in the Top 10 all time.. You look down the list of PGA wins for other stars and most current players have less than 20 pro wins except for Tiger Woods.

They showed that Mickelson has gained length over the last 5 years with a new driver and a better golf ball, technologically speaking. He always has sprayed the ball all over the place but now he is straightening out the driver more. He has the one missed cut this year, which was not good but a 2nd place and first place finish as well... I am excited for him at age 48 and hopefully will get a few more victories.. I am not sure he will hit his goal of 50 pro golf tournament wins but I think he has some wins left in him. Being 3 down entering the final round and then winning by 3 was impressive. I am so hoping he wins a US Open, which is back at Pebble Beach this year.. The course will be significantly different than this past weekend, when the USGA sets up the course(speed of the green, thickness of rough, etc) but getting the career grand slam would be a great way to top off his career.

My worry is that he does well on the west coast swing of the PGA, which makes sense because he grew up on the poa annua grass, but not after that.. But he seems to pack it in besides the majors, after the west coast swing, so I am hoping that he shows a renewel of competitiveness after the golf season gets farther along.. He is still great for the game.
