A couple encouraging blog posts on the Strib about the defense. Myrick and Rogers are working at the nickel with Rogers the favorite so far. Claeys says they want someone who is big enough to hit but fast and fluid enough to cover.

I for one am really encouraged by what is being said about the linebackers. An interesting point from last season is the coaches didn't feel they had enough depth and they got worn down at the end of the season. I wonder if this might be the source of Campbell's woes against Wisconsin and Missouri. He is a tall guy so he has a lot more to be tenderized. Poock might be the story of Spring on defense. It's beginning to sound like he's a mortal lock to start in the middle. linebacker has been our Achilles Heel on defense for quite a long time. In 2013 we started to turn it around and now it looks like we have the starters and depth needed to compete. Thinking back 4-5 years we were terrible at linebacker.
