JP Macura ended up as co-leading scorer for Xavier as they beat #1 Villanova. He ended up with 19 points. So many #1 teams have not been able to hold the position very long this year and Villanova is no different. Macura scored a couple layups and a 3 point play in a run they had. He is a kid that I like more and more as I see him play. Xavier has a relatively balanced squad so 1 of a handful of kids can lead their team in scoring in a given game. I say this to qualify it that Macura isn't necessarily their scorer.. He does many things well and he is obviously a good fit for that team, off the bench. I never got to see Vaughn play nor the Travis kid but out of that group of Minnesota HS players, I so wish we could have secured Macura as I enjoy watching him play as I did Tyus Jones. .
Xavier is a team no one is talking about but they could make some noise in this NCAA tournament Guys know their roles and they have a few young guys that are maturing as players... On a side note, one of Xavier's assistant coaches, Luke Murray, is the son of comedian, Bill Murray.
