I am updating all the kids that have taken Gopher visits as it intros you guys to them, it tells their thoughts on the team, etc.
This week I have already done Jarvis Thomas, Nate Reuvers, and Shae Mitchell and you can go to the basketball recruiting page to see those. Today is McKinley Wright and I felt the need to start a thread on him.
The article is here.

First off, this young man fits what the Gophers do. I think he would be a good fit for them, they like him I hear in every way, but he's just not that tall and that is what this comes down to I think. I've heard McKinley would love to go to Minnesota and as you can see others are offering and he is a Rivals150 guy now.
Will it happen? The offer I mean. My gut says eventually but that is a guess. They don't have much for numbers and the PGs they have offered are a bit bigger: Isaiah Washington, Darius Perry, and Mario Haskett are all a bit bigger (Haskett's coach said he was offered yesterday).
They have also been after Alonzo Verge but I haven't seen an offer go to him yet either.
With recruiting, it's tough to know if maybe the AAU or HS coach made a mistake in listening to what was said about an offer and wanting a kid, and it's tough to know what people are expecting elsewhere offer wise. Offers aren't always as fluid of a thing as you would think.
This is just speculation but look at this:
NYC kids: They are always offered early. Why I don't know but they are by so many. Washington was offered early by MN.
Haskett: all mid-major offers and then just added 3 HM offers recently. Did they offer? Maybe, I have no idea who he is. Maybe he's outstanding.
Verge: Lots of time to watch him still, no need to offer yet.
Perry: Kid was outstanding, many offered this summer. Makes sense.
Wright: With Minnesota kids the offer from Minnesota is put under a huge spotlight. At home you better be sure this is right because there is so much speculation and potential feelings hurt around here that being the home area offer you have to look at many things.
It's easier to offer a kid in Virginia and then move on from him if he doesn't pan out than it is local. If that happens local you upset HS coaches, AAU coaches, and people that are going to still be around. Is that the case with McKinley? I have zero idea. I'm just making points about offers so you guys understand the world of hoops recruit a bit better.
I personally think they will go on him at some point because he does fit them in many, many ways. He's just not as tall as some of the others.
