I like Forrester as another big.. Sounds like he is long and active...I know Kalscheur is in the picture and having a good AAU year, so far... Oturu sounds like a great commit. Of course, Race Thompson will be a huge get, if he comes here..
I admit I am disappointed that, in the last report, some of the eastern guys have backed off of us a bit. I really wanted us to have a great shot at the Wilson kid.. That said, who knows how he will turn out as a player. I say this, ad nauseum, but I feel it is so important to have 6-6 to 6-8 active wings, both offensively and defensively.. Guys that size usually have such great length and are flexible off switches on defense, deflections, rebounds, steals, transition points, etc. We saw that in Coffey and I believe we need those types as much as possible.
Do we have other tall wings that we are looking at right now?? Guys that are excited about where the Gophers are headed?? I would think the wings would be excited to come in to play with a guy like Isaiah Washington though Washington sounds like more of a scorer than I previously thought.
The PG situation is interesting to me.. In light of Washington's recruitment, it will be interesting to see how good of a PG we can get... It is a unique situation as we need a quality PG in the 2018 group but it may be a guy that would not start for his first 3 years if Washington stays for 4 years. Regardless, the 2018 guy would probably get good PT but may not start...AJ Green??? I have ZERO hope of landing Tre Jones. Did not like that Carey backed off of us and I didnt hear much about the Adams kid from Maryland but I dont think we can afford a situation where we dont get a PG in 2018.
It is not like we have unlimited amount of scholarships and it is still early... I get it. But I am really hoping we can get a couple of great solid taller wings and a good PG.
