The reason I ask is that both are from the Toronto area, I believe...Maybe will help in Bandoo's recruiting.
It is unbelievable, in retrospect, that University of Minnesota has more Canadians recruited in basketball than in hockey or any other sport. I did not think Canada had much talent in basketball as I thought the whole country was hockey or soccer crazy. Minnesota's involvement with Canadian hoops started, to my knowledge, with Leo Rautins and continued with Mo Walker and Devoe Joseph..If that is not true, please correct me. . Now we have Marcus Carr and possibly Devonte Bandoo.... We have enough for an ALL-CANUCK team, of former Gopher hoopsters.
I think I read there were between 25-30 D1 recruits out of Canada this past season.. Maybe we should pay attention to the big cities like Toronto in the more eastern Canada provinces to see the talent coming up... There are 13-14 NBA players from Canada now, I think, so the area has proven to produce quality athletes and players.
