Steve Miller coached at Denver for 20 years, including 3 years as associate head coach. During his time there, Denver won 2 national championships, 3 WCHA regular season titles, and 4 WCHA tournament titles.
Following Denver, he was at Providence College, where they claimed their first ever national championship.
After Providence, he joined the staff at Air Force.
He is an assistant coach for the US national junior team, and he helped them claim a gold medal at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.
