Following practice today, Coach Kill extended an offer to Eden Prairie (Minn.) athlete JD Spielman.
Of course after I tell you guys that Minnesota won't offer until camp, even as I was told today, they offer following practice tonight.
Seeing him in person today, he's all of 5'8", no more. I'd be willing to bet the Gophers offered as a slot WR.
Here's what Spielman told GI tonight.
"The visit went great as I walked away with an offer. Coach Kill told me they want me to go camp to figure out what position they want me at, but this is an offer I wanted as it's always a good feeling to get something big like this from the hometown school. I didn't grow up a Gopher fan, but a Gator fan, but it's still cool to get an in-state offer. I told my boy Carter Coughlin about the offer and he told me that if he chooses to go there, I definitely have to consider them as "we could be the sickest high school to college duo of all-time". My mom is also happy for me as she came with today, but I won't be committing soon as I have more visits coming this summer and I want to keep an open mind. I'll be visiting Nebraska this weekend."
