I can confirm that Minnesota added another in-state walk-on in Maple Grove (Minn.) defensive end Sam Renner. Here's what Renner told GI.
"Minnesota got in touch with me about a month ago and they want me to walk-on there at defensive end. I've always wanted to be a Gopher since I've been a little kid, so it really is a dream come true. I tore my ACL on homecoming, so I didn't get seen by a lot of colleges, so I was just talking to the in-state D2 schools."
"I visited practice today and got a tour before and I loved it. I met with the staff and Coach Kill and made things official. I'm excited and honored to be playing for the Gophers next year."
