Remember how the last couple of staffs NEVER interacted with the players during the game ?
I think I posted 50 times in game threads while drunk how much I hated this and that is not "leadership".
I LOVE how Fleck is involved with every player throughout the game.
When we kicked the kick off out of bounds, they showed Fleck teaching one on one. After Smith got that crazy 6 yard 1st down run to keep the drive alive, they showed Fleck grabbing him and praising him. Same with Brooks. Same with defenders. When the quarter ended, he is leading the team down the sideline.
I remember being 20 years old. If I had a coach like this, I would take a bullet for him. I love the micro-moments of coaching one on one. I love the times he gets with just the DL and coaches them up. I am a Fleck believer. He gets it. He is a leader of young men.
I still think we will go thru some difficult times this year. That said, the leader we have is a the right guy IMHO.
