Another MAC conference story in Ohio......Herb and Charlene Homan have 19 grandchildren total.... Out of those, there are 5 boys that are grandchildren from 1 of their daughters and 2 of their sons, that are all in HS this year at 3 different local schools, south and west of Celina, Ohio. They ALL play football. The HS teams are Coldwater, Marion Local, and Fort Recovery......All from the MAC conference..... They are different sized schools and ALL 3 TEAMS MADE THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES in their respective divisions.... So Grandma and Grandpa Homan are going to 3 separate state championship games this weekend in Columbus, Ohio to see their grandchildren play.... All 5 grandchildren see playing time for their respective high schools.
What are the chances that one family has 5 grandchildren that play football in high school at the same time at 3 different high schools?? Then all 3 teams are successful and all from the same conference?? Then all 3 teams be good enough to get to the state championship games at different sized schools?? Then all in the same year?? The chances are so minute it is almost preposterous... But it is true for this family.. As I write this, Coldwater just won their 4th straight state championship and Fort Recovery is getting ready to play in about 45 minutes... Marion Local will play tomorrow. ALL the cousins are very close so they will be at all the games cheering for each other..For Minnesota Vikings' fans, yes this is relation to the LB from Ohio State that was drafted and stopped playing football because of injuries.
