This spring practice way more competitive than the last spring practice. Best practice we had was the one today, the team is starting to figure it out.

Redshirts have improved dramatically…adding 18 freshmen in June. Some of them may have to play.

Sid asked if any of the seven early enrollees have stood out, PJ responded nobody in particular.

The starting quarterback question came up. Fleck said he’s very happy about where they’re at, and where they are going. On Tanner Morgan, “He’s incredibly smart and makes decisive decisions. Great leadership.” On Zack Annexstad: “He has come on strong and looks like he’s been here five years. Vic Viramontes gives us another dimension as well. Those guys are never satisfied and want to get better.”

Great journalism trick by Sid to ask, “Do you like the JUCO quarterback the most?” To which PJ responded, “I like them all.”

Seth Green moved to TE this past week. “He’s smiling at practice, having fun. You can see the natural athleticism. I think it’s a good move.”

Offensive line this spring vs. last spring, “We have more bodies. You can see their bodies and demeanor improving every day. I give Brian Callahan a ton of credit.”

Coach said it’ll be tough to replace Steven Richardson as he was a phenomenal player, but they’re going to have to and some younger guys will have to step up.
