  • Tanner Morgan is a leader and a born winner. He has the "it" factor. Seth Green has one of the better athletes on the team and we'll determine his position this spring, but he's in the thick of the QB battle and will start there. When the cultural change came, he wasn't all in but now he's an advocate for it. Reps will be pretty equal in spring practice to start.
  • The new facilities hasn't changed practice or access times but it's given the facility all to us so players can come in on their own.
  • Donnell Greene is back from surgery and healthy. Connor Olson and Sam Schlueter have both made big strides. Blaise Andries may move to guard. Dunlap and Faalele have done everything we've asked of them. They've earned the respect of their teammates which is hard to do in a 2.5 month span. Faalele didn't lose one tug of war in winter conditioning - it wasn't even close.
  • The R is a glorified outside linebacker, and it's fine that Coughlin and Devers are lighter. Coughlin will stay as an R in the spring. In some packages, Kamal could be moved to the R and Coughlin could be moved to the SAM. We'll have more options because of more depth. A lot of that depth won't come until the freshman come so those new wrinkles might not come at linebacker.
  • Reigelsperger will play as a true freshman.
  • Kiondre Thomas dominated the offseason. He's going to have a tremendous season; you can feel it.
  • Going to cross-train Winfield and Shenault as a corner, safety, and nickel. Winfield is 100% healthy.
  • True freshman DBs will have to play.
  • Chris Williamson is recovering from a soft injury tissue injury but he'll be back after spring break.
  • Shannon Brooks will miss the 2018 season with a leg injury and that he'll receive a medical redshirt. He'll have surgery soon and will become Coach Brooks.
  • Wants to see Tyler Johnson's leadership improve. He has natural leadership skills but wants to see more from him.
  • No surprise: Bateman, Autman-Bell, and Douglas will be counted on for a lot of snaps. There will be 5-6 receivers that will have the talent to play but will lack much experience.
  • What flipped the switch for players who just recently bought in? Time.
  • Love the 5-6 defensive line interior. Elijah Teague will have to play despite the talent.
  • OJ Smith gives some validity to the program and culture because most players in the program have only seen one program. Smith comes from a national championship program and has totally bought in to the RTB culture.
  • The DBs are already attached to Addae. Marcus West is really young, really aggressive in recruiting and will recruit Georgia. He understands a program rebuild and cultural changes. Patterson is young, brings a lot to the offense, and will recruit Texas very well.
  • Change is healthy. Want the coaches to grow and move up. The program doesn't change or miss a beat.
I'll have a transcript up later.
