  • Offense didn't exactly start fast. The defense created a lot of energy. Told the defense that when people watched defense, he wanted them to be inspired.
  • Disappointed in the offense in a lot of aspects. The false start and unsportsmanlike conduct is undisciplined and that starts with him.
  • Stockstill is a heck of a player, and we didn't get a chance to see him.
  • Special teams was a game changer.
  • Thinks all three phases played well
  • Complimented Andy Greder's teal pants.
  • You need a pair and a spare back, and McCrary was the spare. Proud of his development. He's grown tremendously in all four areas of his life. Not a lot of guys who have made more progress as a man than him.
  • Have to be able to stay healthy. Might have to pull some redshirts soon.
  • Rodney Smith got dinged up, haven't talked to the doctors. We have the best physicians and trainers in America. They've responded perfectly to everything.
  • Shannon Brooks might have been able to play, but we want to be sure.
  • We're going to play to the strengths of the football team, whether that's two running backs on the field or any other personnel grouping.
  • We don't believe in momentum. That's a part of Gopher Talk. That's someone playing bad offense and good defense or the other way around. Momentum isn't an excuse. You take one play for what it's worth.
  • Proud of the linebackers. We're so deep there, we move some to rush end. They're aggressive, credit to Robb Smith. Every time the defense made a play, they put their oar back in the water.
  • The defense read and reacted to screens very quickly.
  • Ciarrocca, Smith, and Wenger are all incredible people, husbands, and fathers. Smith and Ciarrocca were at their kids' games this Thursday and Friday.
  • Probably will have to pull Rey Estes' redshirt this season.
  • As the head football coach, you need the ability to levitate and view the whole program from above. You don't always stick yourself in the middle.
  • Have to change my best every day and keep serving and giving the players.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday the staff will watch 2018 recruits and they'll watch 2019 recruits, too.
  • On his shoes: We don't do anything to get national attention. We do everything to be the best us. We have the national championship mascot, why not celebrate him? Right foot is baby Goldy, left foot is adult Goldy because it's his birthday. As educators, we need to let people have fun and celebrate.
Kobe McCrary
  • All of the running backs know that we're all capable of playing. We lean on each other. We're all close.
  • It's been a rough 6-8 months, but the culture Fleck has brought in has been excellent. Feels like he's learned a lot.
Conor Rhoda
  • On the first drive, we started by running the ball down their throats then got a little sluggish the rest of the half.
  • Coach Burns is as good as any RB coach in the country.
  • The gameplan wasn't a whole lot different today from the first two games.
  • We're going to need to be more balanced in Big Ten play.
  • We did well to get ourselves into a lot of third and threes and third and fours.
  • Not sure there's one look he had to keep on the read option today. Nothing keeping him from keeping.
Jacob Huff
  • Never had a pick six. That was a pretty unbelievable experience.
  • The new culture has been amazing for us. Feel like this coaching staff is probably the best for us and will take us to a new level.
Thomas Barber
  • Coach Fleck always talks about changing your best. That's what we're doing from the first half to second half.
