  • MSU had a lot of success on the toss play. Did everything they could to overload. MSU would then counter with a backside zone scheme.
  • It was a tale of two halves split on offense and defense.
  • Holding teams to field goals is a defensive win. Needed to make more plays on offense.
  • Rhoda was not supposed to hand off the ball that was fumbled. Lots of mistakes from the offense in the first half.
  • Staff met yesterday and talked about Demry playing a little bit today regardless. It wasn't a knee jerk reaction.
  • Hasn't decided if Croft will be the starter this year. He learned a really important lesson. Need to do what's best for the football team.
  • It's an absurd statement but we're under 4 minutes from being a 6-0 team.
  • Mark Williams is going to be a go-to receiver and he made catches today.
  • The next guys in are all freshman. But that's not an excuse. Can't wait to coach them and get them better!
  • Seen a difference in Croft but not necessarily a big difference. Trust is built over a long period of time.
  • Saw in the last ten minutes a team he couldn't wait to see. A ton of fight and hope in this team. The team earned the hope.
  • Schlueter's probably playing before he's really ready to play but he's the future.
  • Need to balance redshirts because he owes it to the seniors to win, but there's an incredibly clear vision for the future.
  • Taxing on the defense to be on the field for so long in the third quarter.
  • Going to grow at the pace we need to grow. There won't be band-aid fixes, we'll grow the right way.
  • Sidbit: Sid asks for Fleck's unopened diet coke as the presser concludes.
Thomas Barber
  • Need to draw the line in the sand and restart this week with stopping the run.
  • Getting more settled and comfortable reading his keys as the season's progressed.
Jon Celestin
  • MSU wanted to get the ball to the edge. We didn't all do our jobs together. We didn't set the edge and pursue the ball as we could have.
Demry Croft
  • Blessed feeling to be out there and rowing the boat. Changing my best every day.
  • Learned to change his best and grow from the suspension.
Tyler Johnson
  • The bobbled touchdown catch was just because of a lack of focus.
  • Matt Simon does a great job of coaching his release and getting separation.
