Ryan,
I am one of those 'weirdos' that looks at your tweets on the front page of GI for lower level players that you see but that aren't talked about on this board because they may be sleepers or D2, D3 caliber ballplayers. As much as I appreciate your contributions to this board, I would think your biggest value as a basketball writer/analyst is to low level D1 schools or lower(D2, NAIA, D3) as they can be informed of players through the North Star hoops site or your short blurbs on Twitter.. All schools like University of Minnesota are big enough to have huge recruiting budgets so you are more reporting on what they see as opposed to helping them understand who is out there to recruit. I am sure you are a huge help to those smaller schools, in your analysis.
MY QUESTION is not related to that. It is about a tweet I saw with a Kevin Baker.. Is that the Kevin Baker recruited to University of Minnesota out of Toledo?? If it was, he was a solid HS player but did not have a lot of success as a Gopher but a great guy, from most of the people I know that know him .
The Kevin Baker from Toledo was a 6-6 forward that played in the early to mid 90's for the Gophers. For maybe 1 year or 2, I think. His dad, Al, was a TE for the University of Toledo football team in the early 70's that won 35 straight games and were led by QB Chuck Ealey. A lot of University of Toledo alumni(not his Dad though) pressured him to sign with the Rockets.
