Jason Dickson
Strengths:
· Active feet. Consistently keeps his feet driving throughout run blocks and has a stable base in pass protection
· Excellent reach blocker. Tape shows him more than a few times have the feet/athleticism to get outside of DE’s/LB’s and get the edge
· Former basketball player. His athleticism shows on tape with his pass protection, reach blocking, and zone blocking
Weaknesses:
· Strength. Since he is a former basketball player with not a big football background, he will need to get stronger. Film saw him give ground at times
· Didn’t have the mean streak that Dunlap showed on film. More important for guards/centers to have that in my opinion, but it is something I noticed
Dickson is a great athlete that can make all sorts of blocks and is sound in pass protection. Strength will come with S&C program, and the mean streak thing I wouldn’t buy too much into. He’ll compete from Day One to be a starter in my opinion. Projects as an offensive tackle. He follows suit of the players Fleck likes to recruit: very good athletes that will add strength and be coached up when they get to Minnesota.
