Emmit Carpenter opened his senior season by making all six point-after attempts and 2-of-3 field goals against New Mexico State. He now has 194career points as he has made 80 point-after attempts and 38 field goals. Six more points will make him the sixth kicker and 11th player overall to reach 200 career points as a Gopher.
The last player to hit the 200-point mark was quarterback Mitch Leidner (33 rushing TDs and 1 2PT from 2013-16) and the last kicker to do so was Dan Nystrom (154 PATs and 71 FGs from 1999-2002). Nystrom is Minnesota's all-time leading scorer with 367 points.
