Team really exceeded the "gurus" pre-season picks

The Big Three pre-season national mags are Lindy's, Athlon and The Sporting News.

All 3 picked Minny to be 5th in the Big Ten West , end up 6-6- and 3-6 in the B10 and make a return to the Quick Lane Bowl. Lindy's also ranked the B10 teams 1-14 and had them at #12.

I was really shocked at the time, yet these mags "shock" most years. They all had Iowa #1 the B10 West.
