QB: B
This would be an A, but Rhoda's play was a C+ at best. Fleck even said it himself in the post game press conference. Croft kept plays alive with his athleticism. Made some good passes as well.
RB: C
It was a combo of OL and RB miscues, but the stars of our team had a tough game. They misses openings in the line and the fumbles were brutal.
WR:. A
Even when they didn't make the catch, it wasn't because they didn't run a good route. They were open. Great game by the WRs. The future is bright.
TE: C
I don't know how much people watch their blocking in the run game, but for those that do, wow did they let DE's and OLBs fill gaps that they should not have. I played TE and DE so I have a soft spot for this position, but we might not have the type of TE that we want. I still don't know how the TE will be featured in the Gopher offense.
OL: B
Great pass blocking. They let some blitzing LBs thru in the running game but MSU is really good on D.
DL: D
Absolutely terrible contain. Outside of a couple plays from our stud DT, we got worked badly.
LB: C
Again, we made some plays, but the LBs were terrible in continuing down the line to stop the RB when he cut back on the sweep. Celestin played terrible gap control D. Barber was the line bright spot here.
DB's: B
They were forced to stop the run 12-15 yards downfield. They did a good job in man coverage. They were a bright spot in the D.
Special Teams: B
Decent coverage. Decent returns. Good FGs. Nothing great. Nothing bad.
Coaching: B-
At some point you have to put 8-9 in the box and say, "beat me with the pass, I dare you.". The decision to switch QBs was perfect. The play calling with Croft was great. We ran plays that forced the opposing LBs to either bite on the run by Croft or drop in coverage and give up the middle of the field for a run or short pass.
