It is so nice to see us make tackles where the opposing offense has little to no time after the catch to get their shoulders square to make yards after the catch.... We would make the hits by the DBs as soon as the ball arrived.... That is great and showed our increase in team speed.... Our LBs moved well to the ball and read their keys well.. I understand we had lapses in the 2nd half that let Fresno State back in the game, but these are young players making huge progress on defense. LOVED IT.
Offensively, I thought the line played much better... Williams ran harder as the game progressed.. Obviously, the wildcat was effective even if it was just Seth Green until the 2 point conversion... Bateman is going to be a good one, for sure.. Autman Bell had a terrific block.... Johnson saved the day with a great catch from Annexstad to keep the drive alive... ZA did a great job to keep that play going in a key situation....That is poise by underclassmen....Boys, I dont want to get the "cart ahead of the horse" but I am AWFULLY EXCITED ABOUT OUR DEVELOPMENT.. Yes, we will be humbled in some games but guys are buying into the system and our best football is ahead of us.. SKI-U-MAH Gopher fans!!!! RTB, Baby!!!
