every time MN has gone to a lower tier bowl there is the crowd that states MN should just say "no we are not going." there are those that belittle the process, the experience. i dont understand these views. i admittedly do understand the fan view of not being able to go somewhere fun, and our voting with the feet and dollars.
all that said, here is my thought. all we can do is keep on supporting the program. while not a fan favorite, that lower tier, humbling bowl provides players and coaches with some very valuable practices. while national exposure is not bad, even at that level, the practices are where the real benefit lies on a year like this.
that said, it is understandable that many wont travel for lower tier bowl. however trust the process, support the program in some way, educate the naysayers, dont let them get away with belittling the team or the bowl opportunities.
