I'm the ticket nerd around here, and have been tracking the seats sold for years.
In the history of TCF Bank Stadium, our tickets sold going into a season have NEVER come close to being as bad as this season. If you click around the seating chart, and know which tickets are being held in blocks, you can estimate they've only sold about half the stadium. They've sold about 25k total of tickets. They'll sell some through pick your pack, and some individual games, probably go with livingsocial discount seats, and come down in price, but even with all of that, I honestly think our average attendance this fall will be close to 40k, after averaging over 50k last year.
Its a shame we've lost folks with the donation requirements, but hope overall it helps the school. The sheriff has a big decision in what he plans to do with the 3rd year donation next fall.
