This is nothing new. See it all the time. But Radiant's (one of the better posters on here, imo) post in the Game Thread inspired me to say this.

Any so-called fan who is already grumbling about Fleck....I have a hard time believing they're a true fan. And I don't give a rat's behind if they're at the game, or at every game.

'Fandom' develops in a person for different reasons. And most of them....believe it or not....they are nowhere near my level of fandom.

I'll tell you how my Minnesota fandom developed. It was at about age 5 or 6. And it was 100% about Minnesota teams (Vikings, Twins, North Stars, and Gophers) winning or losing. From age 6 to about age 17 I watched every single game of all those teams. And I'd get sick when we lost....even if it was a meaningless regular-season game. There was no rhyme or reason to it. It was simply because they are my teams. I rarely asked my dad to take me to games....because all I cared about was if we won or lost. Period. Yes I had to witness it on TV....but mostly to see what everyone was saying about it. I wanted everyone to think MN was good.

That's why I support Fleck and take the long-term approach to winning now. It's been 40 years....and winning is all I care about. Real contention. I've graduated from obsessing about every game though LOL. This isn't about tooting my own horn. But just so you know....I'm 10X more of a fan than most of the people at the games. (I had season tickets in my college years and all that, though.)
